I am the oldest person on the staff at Bethel. I am married to Paul and the mother to Steve. Favorite mother - in - law to Kelly and grandmother to the greatest grandchildren ever, Marcus, Mckena and Marisa.

I like Bethel and it's volunteers. They come in all sizes, ages and personalities. Making my job a joy especially when they say yes, I'd like to do that.

Bethel is a beautiful place to worship and work.

God’s Work.  Our Hands.  Seems like just yesterday I came to Bethel for my first day of work.  It is now 8 years!  Each day I thank my God for the opportunity to serve Bethel, using new education and my talents to His glory.  My husband of over 18 years, Rich, supports and encourage me to do what I love to do.  We make our home in Brooten where our family is expanding.  We started on a path to adopt teens in 2009 and hope to add two daughters to our family before the end of 2010.  Our "together" favorite hobby is spending as much warm weather time at our camper, making new friends and enjoying the fresh air, exploring new things to grill, learning to cook on a camp fire, and then enjoying a warm campfire on a cold evening.  My hobbies include beading, playing and teaching piano and organ, and singing.  It is a privilege to serve God and Bethel, partnering with the hardest working church staff in the countryside.

 

Ruth Koenen | Communications Coordinator

Hello! I’m Ruth Koenen. As the Communications Coordinator at Bethel, I’ll be working on publications like the Sunday Bulletin and Beam Newsletter. Besides wearing the hat of Bethel employee, I also wear the hat of wife and mother. Dennis and I have been married for 25 years! He is a Trooper employed by the Minnesota State Patrol. We have two children and one son-in-law. Krista is in her second year of grad school at Minnesota State University, Mankato working on
her masters in School Counseling. This past July, she married Brian McNally. He is a manager at Target in Mankato. Our son Travis is in his third year at Southwest State University in Marshall. He is double majoring in Computer Science and Justice Administration. Since Dennis and I are “empty nesters” we are enjoying time together by attending area sporting events and taking long walks. We also enjoy cheering on the Twins, Vikings and watching NASCAR. In my own spare time, I love to read and sew. Thank you to the Bethel staff and
members who have made it very easy for me to fit in here. I feel so welcomed. Feel free to stop by my office and say hi!
